The best cameras for dummies under U$200,00

People used to aks me what is the better camera for newbies under 200 bucks. If your concerns move towards portability, good high ISO performance, sharp lens and good bang for the buck ratio, I deeply recommend two choices.

If you are under an "end of the world" mood, pick up a Casio EX-G!: Waterproof, shock proof and can be used even in the snow.

But if you really like the life held in a positive approach, the Canon ELPH 300 HS is the better choice. Excellent sensor, despite to be smaller than the one in my Nokia N8. Very bright ens, starting at f/2.7. Very good zoom range for those lazy enough to use their legs to get close to the subject. This one can record FUllHD videos, at a film like frame rate of 24fps.

For you who love 1:1 pics, those squared ones, this baby can shot this way, natively.

Both holds a MSRP of less than 200 bucks.

Stolen Scream: an amazing digital story.

A couple of years ago the israeli photographer Noam Galai had one of his self portraits stolen. Not from a hanging frame on the wall. It was stolen from Flickr and used on t-shirts, flyers, and even magazines on South America. The only paid use was on Glimpse magazine during 2008 elections.

Since then, yhe image became a icon for pretersters around the world, but also there's a lot of artistis and companies earning money with the image, without even ask for permission or pay anything to Noam.

The full story, as developed by the amazing people at Fstoppers.

The best Scrum class ever: Apollo 13, the movie

I just watched the best Scrum class ever: Apollo 13, the movie. See how a multifunctional team bring critical solutions on a tight time frame. With quality and using all Agile hints possible.

iPad2: more of the same old marketing babbling

IoS 4.3, Face Time, HDMI out (in my Nokia N8 i don't need to buy more cables), 2 cameras (again, I got it on my N8), Photo Booth, thinner, cheaper and plenty of apps.

New dual core processor, called A5, better graphics. NO UPGRADE ON RESOLUTION. Still with 1024 x 768. It's a case to not mess with a win-win setup. Change the resolution would make developers crazy. it's all business. If you want watch HD movies, buy a cable.

A winner? No doubt.

But it's not a whole new device.

If you don't need cameras, Face Time or blazing fast video or gaming, stick with the current model as ask for dicounts.

Should I buy gadgets that steal workers lifes?

In the realm of a new iPad I offer a hint: before buy, take a time to read the article writen by Joel Johnson for WIRED.

Those people works 12 hours a day, with little or no opportunities to be a better people. The work shifts at Foxconn factories in Shenzhen is more than unacceptable. It's cruel.

Be smart. Buy gadgets that empower people and not slave then.
